I have been super busy (and not only at work of course) and I realized I haven't posted anything for the longest time.

So I thought I should share what I am working on currently (and taking forever...).

I start drawing this on the komatex plate on August I believe.
I have already printed the 1st layer at the Anchor Graphics in the Columbia College in Chicago.
They got a beautiful cozy well-equipped studio, and you can pay some fees to use the studio during the open studio hours.

After the first layer done, I have started carving more and more, and it's taking forever to finish (since this is going to be the last layer).

Part of the reason is I don't have much time during the week. I commute, I work, I get back home, sleep.
During the weekend, well, I start taking a wheel throwing class at the Lilstreet (they offer many art classes).
It's nice to be back on a wheel (literary) but then my weekends have been spending time on a wheel in the studio, playing with clay making a lot of mugs.

At least I am still making stuff...

But I need to get back to finish this print.

I will keep you all posted.
Follow me on FB if you'd like. I have more photos of my ceramics works too.

***PLEASE SHOOT ME A MESSAGE THAT YOU ARE FROM DA***

Otherwise I might just not accept your friend request :P

Or you can just like my FB page too: [link]

Thank you and you all have a wonderful December!

So it's been 2 month now since I moved to Chicago.

I had to rush everything when I moved here so I didn't get a chance to find a nice place that I really wanted to live.
(with decent pricing and good neighborhood)

My new job is going well, I wish I worked not in the suburbs but near downtown :P
It's a bit pain in the butt to commute from where I live, although I wanted to be close enough to downtown so that I could be involved with the art scene in Chicago.

Maybe I can find a place say around Wicker Park that has a art scene next year (hopefully).

So far I've been busy but I have been drawing. Trying to work on a new block.
I found out that Anchor Graphics in Columbia College [link] has a open studio, which I can pay a little bit of money and print.
it's like 30min from where I live so I will do it.

My pottery friend Galli [link] also told me about this place called Lilstreet [link]
There they offer bunch of classes in different levels.
I'm thinking about taking a wheel throwing class this Fall.

Other than that not much going on, just busy.
I don't even have a friend that I can really hang out with lol
and no bars around where I live :(
Hey! just a quick update that I just won a grand prize in a competition called ArtUP 2011 by Britten!
Here is the website link [link]
Some of you might already know if you are facebook friends with me :P

I also won $500! woo!
They are going to make a banner for the artists who submitted to their competition and if anyone lives at or near by Baltimore, I guess it's going to be hang all over the city.

I'm really happy because this piece needed an award.
and I didn't had a chance to submit to any exhibition until now :O

Well that's for it now!
Have a wonderful weekend!

First of all, I am not allowed to use our printshop (since I graduated and now I'm not covered with the school's insurance, I am not suppose to work in the shop)
So I won't be able to make any prints at this point, I'm sorry.

I've been drawing (since that's pretty much what I can do with my small room), I might post some of those if people are interested.

This fall was awesome, 3 different exhibitions, I think they were all successful (And I sold my new print!!! yay!).

The one in River's Edge Gallery, Wyandotte, Michigan is still going on.
I hope someone will buy my print as well, I totally missed out the opening reception though, bummer.

I've hearing my prints aren't affordable, I'm sorry yea they are not cheap :/
I have a Society6 account too, they sell copies of my work(art print, iphone cases, laptop cases etc) with a reasonable prices
Here is the link [link]

Now I am getting ready to apply to grad schools, wish me luck please!! I really want to get in :)
So that I can start making more work.

I have 3 different exhibitions lined up for this Fall that I got in/invited.
This is really awesome and at the same time made me pretty busy with paper works, framing, and delivering my works :(
Anyways, here are some schedule of shows that you can go see my works (if you live in Michigan, USA!)

ArtPrize: September 21-October 9 in the Plaza Towers @ Grand Rapids, Michigan.
This is one of the biggest international art festival, over 1700 artists, hundreds of venues, one city.
I got some really good feedbacks last year so I decided to participate again this year!

Open Competition 2011: September 23 - October 27, in the Alfred Berkowitsz Gallery, University of Michigan - Dearborn.
I just delivered my piece the other day and all the works in the show looked amazing!!!!

Reclamed: TBA, early October I guess, River's Edge Gallery, Wyandotte, MI

and I got featured in Neverlazy Magazine's issue 2.
Check it out!!!

So someone who is really nice in dA posted me a note about some guy on eBay, using my designs on iPhone cases and selling them without my permission.

I e-mailed the guy right away and he apologized and took the item off the list right away so that was nice.
Apparently he already sold 3 of those cases with my design on.
So I thought why don't I do the same thing?

so here I am

society6 is another website that you can show your work/sell your work as t-shirts, iPhone cases, laptop cases, etc.
So far I got like 3 different iPhone case designs and it should look pretty sharp :)

Just so you know I am so graceful to hear from people who are worried about my family, friends, and the people in Japan.
The earthquake is definitely delivered the most deadly damage to my country however, I'm glad to hear that there are many people whos willing to help my country.
I'm one of the people who cannot do anything besides donating money. But our people in Japan are definitely going to remember and appreciate the help offered from all over the world in this deadly earthquake and tsunami.

Thank you so much.

p.s. my family in Japan are fine and safe.

Finally finished my semester with this deadly finals!
OMG art history is a killer!
I'm so glad that I don't have to take it anymore!

So next week I'm heading to Italy for our university's study abroad program!
I'm going to be mainly in Florence, and will be in Rome, Sienna, Venice for few days.
I'm not ready but so excited!
Done all the paper works and etc were so stressful but it's done now!
Next week I'm in Italy and drawing and having fun all day.

So after this weekend I won't be posting anything unless I find a wireless internet connection somewhere in Italy.
Sorry guys but I still have stuff to post before I leave!

My first experience of the Southern Graphics Conference was great, I'm sure I will attend to the conference next spring as well, get to see a lot of ppl, art, and hopefully sell some of my prints at the open portfolio :)

It's been almost 8 years of living in the U.S. now. crazyness.

I hope that you all had a great christmas with who you care and love, and I hope that you all will have a happy new year :)
