18"x24" reductive relief print.
This is only 2 layer version (original is 5 layers), so it's an "artist proof" but I still like how the colors turned out.
I know this is categorized in "woodblock" but I carved out a material called "komatex", it's more like a plastic plate.

This place is actually in Tokyo, where I visited in 2008 few times.

Check my online shop plz!

Where in Tokyo was this? I studied abroad last year in Tokyo and I'm getting so nostalgic looking at all your prints!

I think it is near Ueno. I spend a summer in Kawasaki and I visited Tokyo few times.

Thanks! Next time I go, I'll keep an eye out for this building (I went to Ueno a lot).

Now I checked google map (and the street view lol) it's in Ueno, Ameyoko(those streets with a lot of shops and vendors).
The shop was a soba noodle restaurant, not super expensive but really good place.

Eee! I knew it looked familiar!
But everytime I went there was a million people. Did you have to crop a lot out of your reference photos/sketches to get only one person in the final street view?

And wow - thanks for looking that up. I took to finding old Ukio-e of places that I was seeing in modern-day Tokyo. Like this one, of the place I used to live: [link]

sorry for the late reply.

It wasn't that crowded when I was there even though I think it was during the weekend...maybe it was too hot outside? :P Although I had to crop few people but now I kinda want to know how it looks like if I kept all the people in the print.
