reductive relief print, 24"x30", edition of 10.

This is the final piece for my BFA exhibition in fall 2010.
I draw from a picture of my neighberhood and my house(on the left with blue silhouette), and use it as a focul pint in the center of the piece, showing the contemporary Japan, how it looks like and also showing my personal history and connection with my native country.

carved on komatex plate, 3 layers(orange, blue, black)

very nice. I like how u integrated the scene into the patterns by extending the basic shape yet still blocked off the natural scene w/ the power-line poles. The smokey clouds and consistent sky really helps unify the image......k now I sound like some art critic..I'll stop now lol

Yea the extension of the scene is quite nice I think.
I didn't want to ruin the sense of depth and space when I blocked off the central image.
